Do betta fish shed their fins?
While it is common for pet betta fish to lose fins, according to the experts, it is not normal. Either fin rot (which is caused by an infection) or fin loss (caused by external factors) could be the reason why your betta fish is losing fins. The good news is both are completely preventable.
But seriously, it’s common for bettas to sleep on the bottom of the tank. They may lay on a plant leaf, inside a hollow log or may just bunk down right on the substrate. I’ve seen them even lay on their sides or point their heads straight down.
How do you treat a betta fish with missing scales?
