There is a carpark close to the beach known as the Caol Shopping Centre carpark. It is in a square between various shops and restaurants. As well as the carpark there is also lots of on-street parking options. From the carpark you simply wander down to the beach.
Where in Scotland is Fort William?
Situated in Lochaber in the West Highlands, Fort William is well connected to the main cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh with regular transport links by train and bus. It is approximately a two to three hour drive from both cities, although it is closer to Glasgow on the west coast.
Why is Fort William famous?
Fort William, which lies at the western end of the Great Glen, was the first of the forts to be built, constructed in stone around 1698. It withstood a siege during the Jacobite rebellion of 1745 and was subsequently used as the base for the hunt of Bonnie Prince Charlie.
