Does Fishes ever get thirsty?

The answer is still no; as they live in water they probably don’t take it in as a conscious response to seek out and drink water. Thirst is usually defined as a need or desire to drink water. It is unlikely that fish are responding to such a driving force.
To partially compensate for the water loss, ocean fish actually drink water through their mouths. To get rid of the excess salt they take in by drinking seawater, they excrete some salt through cells in their gills. Freshwater fish never drink water because their bodies are saltier than the surrounding water.
Do fishes get dehydrated?
Depending on where they live, fish either drink a lot or pee a lot. In the sea, a fish’s body is less salty than its surroundings, so it loses water across its skin and through its gills via osmosis. To stop themselves dehydrating, marine fish drink masses of seawater and produce a trickle of concentrated urine.
While fish do not sleep in the same way that land mammals sleep, most fish do rest. Research shows that fish may reduce their activity and metabolism while remaining alert to danger. Some fish float in place, some wedge themselves into a secure spot in the mud or coral, and some even locate a suitable nest.
Do fish have feelings?

How do fish eat without drinking water?
Fish do absorb water through their skin and gills in a process called osmosis. Osmosis is the flow of water across membranes from areas of low concentration of dissolved things (solutes) to areas of high concentration. It serves to equalize the concentrations in the two areas.
Do fish take water in their mouth?
Fish take in water through their mouths (the nose is for smelling and is not part of the respiratory process). Once through the mouth, the water continues past what are called gill rakers, which filter out food particles and other material. The water then goes over the gills.

Water moves into the fish by osmosis, passively, through the gills and the skin and the stomach. Fish have to eliminate all this excess water by peeing dilute urine. Lots of it. In saltwater, the environment is saltier, the fish loses water passively, so it has to drink.
Can fishes cry?

It is often thought that fish may lack the limbic system, but in reality, fishes do have a limbic system, but they lack the biological machinery to produce tears.
What kills fish water?
The most common cause of natural fish kills is lack of oxygen in surface water. Lack of oxygen can asphyxiate most susceptible fish species within a few hours. Depletion of oxygen in water can result from natural processes and storm events are very often involved.
Why is my tap water killing my fish?
Chlorine. This chemical is found in most tap water and it is used to kill the bad bacteria in our drinking water. Clorine must be eliminated before entering your aquarium or it will kill your tropical fish.
Can a fish survive in milk?
The differences in acidity and dissolved oxygen, not to mention all of the fat, proteins, carbohydrates, and other minerals in the milk that might clog the creature’s gills, would quickly spell trouble. The animal would likely die within minutes, if not sooner.
Can a fish live without a filter?
A fish live without a filter for a maximum of seven days and a minimum of three days. A filter helps clean the water over and over again, so the toxins in it don’t settle down. But that doesn’t make the filter a necessity for fish survival.
Boiling city water can be a quick and natural way to rid it of the Chlorine inside. It will make it safe for aquarium fish, and it will eliminate the unpleasant taste for drinking purposes.
Is bottled water OK for fish?
Not exactly. Bottled water is typically either well water, filtered water or spring water. It may have gone through filters that remove some of its beneficial components, or it may have extra minerals that are unhealthy for fish. You would need to test and adjust it before using it in your tank.
How long does tap water need to sit for a fish tank?
Water needs to sit for a minimum of 24 hours to dechlorinate. It can actually take almost 5 days for chlorine to evaporate completely from the water, depending on the initial concentration of the chlorine, and the total volume of water.
How long after tap water is safe for fish?
One of the chemicals that will harm a fish most is chlorine. Always let tap water sit for 24 hours so the chlorine has a chance to evaporate. Or you can treat the water with another chemical if you’re not able to wait.
