Hypalon production was discontinued by its original manufacturer, DuPont, back in 2009. This was due to production safety reasons and environmental considerations. For one, when Hypalon burns it releases highly toxic fumes.
If you want a high-quality boat that can withstand everything you throw at it, Hypalon is the better choice. But if you’re looking for a budget-friendly boat that looks great and is portable, PVC is for you.
How long do Hypalon inflatable boats last?
Hypalon (CSM) boats usually last 7-15 years, but can last as many as 20 years.

PVC glue will work on both PVC and Hypalon boats without any adverse reactions, the bond just won’t be as strong on the Hypalon.

All you need are some heavy-duty, waterproof repair products like a patch, glue, tape, or repair kit to permanently patch-up your inflatables.
Cut out a small strip of adhesive tape, so you have it ready to use when you blow up the inflatable again. You can always ask someone to pass it to you to make things easier. What is this? Blow up the inflatable again and quickly seal the puncture with the tape.
