What happens when a silverfish bites you? Silverfish do not bite humans or animals, do not carry disease, and are not poisonous. However, they have the potential to spread germs if they come in from the outside and contaminate food.
What kind of fish do polar bear eat? Arctic cod and other fish species eat the krill, which are in turn consumed by ringed seals, the most abundant seal in the Arctic and the primary prey of polar bears.
What age do you need a Kentucky fishing license? New licenses are required annually. Resident and nonresident youth younger than age 12 are not required to purchase licenses or permits to hunt (except the elk lottery application). Resident and nonresident youth ages 15 and younger are not required to purchase licenses or permits to fish.
Do frogs like to eat fish? Frogs can eat fish that are small enough to fit in their mouth. Of course, bigger fish prey on them, so it’s only wise for them to target smaller ones. This occurs but not as often as they target insects. Most likely, frogs hunt fish when they’re readily available.
Do all fishes pee? Yes they do! But why? Well, like most living things, fish too produce waste from their metabolic processes. Peeing is one way of doing that and is referred to as excretion.
What colors do fish see best? On one end of the spectrum, reds and oranges are most readily absorbed in water, so these colors are most visible in shallow water. Darker blues and purples penetrate the deepest. Yellow and greens are in between.
Do fishes get thirst? The answer is still no; as they live in water they probably don’t take it in as a conscious response to seek out and drink water. Thirst is usually defined as a need or desire to drink water. It is unlikely that fish are responding to such a driving force.
Does a fish have a heart beat? The eight fish studied showed both individual periodical variation, as well as individual baseline variation of the heart rate during the experimental period. Mean heart rate ranged from 29.9 ± 6.3 to 48.3 ± 4.9 bpm, at 10.2 ± 0.1 °C.
How do male fish fertilize eggs? The act of spawning takes place in a “nuptial embrace” where the male wraps his body around the female, each embrace resulting in the release of 10-40 eggs until the female is exhausted of eggs. The male, from his side, releases milt into the water and fertilization takes place externally.
Do female fish have testes? Mature female fish will have orange ovaries and male fish will have white testes (see photos above).
