Can you release fish from a stringer?
Rubberized nets help, too. Unhook and release the fish while it is still in the water, if possible, and support its weight with both hands or with a net when removed from the water. Never lift them vertically from the water. Do not place fish you plan to release on a stringer or in a live well.
How many fish can you have on a stringer?
Only put one fish on each stringer so they don’t injure each other. Do not use the metal clip style stringers.
How do you use a flounder Stringer?
- Get a good hold on the fish with the barb pointing away from your body.
- Kill the fish with a pointy knife into the skull cavity right behind the eyes (if it’s not already dead) or use your pointy end of your stringer.
- Run the stringer through the fish’s gill and out through the mouth.
