How do you fish a bass fluke?

Thread the hook straight down the top of the fluke pulling the knot into the fluke. The arch in the fluke keeps the bait from spinning. And will help keep the bait to dive down. Quickly twitch your fluke two to three times and pause for about 5 seconds.
For bay or shallow-water fishing, go with a size 3/0 or 4/0 octopus, sproat or wide-gap hook. For larger fish, ocean fishing, or live bait, choose a 6/0 or 7/0. The bigger hooks work better with larger baits and make it tougher to stick the shorts, resulting in fewer fish to be released.
Use a No.4 to No.10 size brass swivel, or a Sampo X5R or X6R swivel. Because the weight of the swivel and the hook slowly takes the Super Fluke down when you stop twitching it, vary the size for a slower or faster drop.
What rod is best for fluke?
The best tackle for flounder is a 7 foot medium heavy rod coupled with a 3500 series spinning reel. You will want to spool your reel with 20 pound braided line and a 20 pound clear or pink mono filament leader.
Do liver flukes have hooks?

Use a 3/0 EWG Worm Hook for the majority of soft plastic Bass baits. Round Bend Worm Hooks are also a popular option and are often used in more finesse situations rigged with slender plastic worms. Use a 1/0 Round Bend hook for Worms 6 to 7 inches and a 2/0 for worms 8-10 inches.

Bass fishing hook sizes range between 1, 1/0 and 2/0. The smaller size is perfect for worms around 6 inches, while the larger is better for 8-inch worms or 6-inch lizards. Using those baits, your bass fishing hook sizes will also hold a fish capable of eating the bait.
What color hook is best for bass?
Because bass can be triggered by a subtle flash of red like gills on a fish, red trailer hooks are outstanding on bladed baits, as well. Do you put the weight above the hook?
When adding the weight to the line, apply the sinkers roughly a foot and a half above the hook itself. Pass the line through the opening of the sinker and pinch it shut tightly with either your hand or a pair of pliers to make sure it is fastened as securely as possible.
How far should your weight be from your hook?
Tie a hook on the end of your fishing line with one of your fishing knots. Pinch one or two small split shot sinkers to your main line about 6-12 inches from the hook to add a bit of weight to your line (this will keep your bait suspended vertically).
Can you set the hook too hard?
The hook set with a treble hook should be firm but not vigorous. Setting the hook too hard can pull the bait free or destroy the mouth of the fish—both of which are not ideal.
Attach the sinker about 2 ft (0.61 m) above the hook.
Leaving space between the sinker and hook helps your bait float up so it’s more visible to fish. Measure up from the top of your hook and pinch the line so you don’t lose your place. Positioning your sinker much higher on your line may make it difficult to cast.
Do you put the hook on first or the weight?
A good rule of thumb when learning how to fish, is to wait and feel the weight of the fish before setting it. If the fish is cautious and just tapping your fishing line and bait lightly, and not biting it, it’s best to wait. Let the fish take the bait, and then set the hook after you feel its weight.
How far should the float be from the hook?

At the moment you should have a float on the line, fixed at about 18 inches (45 cm) up the line from the hook. If you swing the line out into the water now, the float will either lay flat on the surface or perhaps poke out of the water several inches.
