Why fishes do not have lungs? Fishes have gills as the respiratory system. They take in oxygen-rich water through their mouths and pump it over their gills. Blood present inside the network of capillaries is picked up by the dissolved oxygen as water passes over the gill filaments.

Do fish have hearts yes or no? A fish’s cardiovascular system comprises of two main parts: the heart and the system of pipes (veins, arteries and capillaries) that carry blood throughout the body. Every organ and cell in the fish’s body is connected to this system, which serves a wide variety of purposes. Fish do not have a very powerful heart.

Does a fish pee? Fish have kidneys which produce urine containing ammonium, phosphorus, urea, and nitrous waste. The expelled urine encourages plant growth on coral reefs; downstream benefits also include increased fertilization of algae and seagrass, which in turn provides food for the fish.

Is fish oil worth taking? While research shows that people who eat dietary sources of fish oil at least twice a week have a lower risk of dying of heart disease, taking fish oil supplements seems to have little to no benefits to heart health.

Most tropical aquariums require at least 12 hours of darkness every day, whereas cold-water aquariums require more, meaning you should only illuminate fish tanks for 8–12 hours each day. Fish living in aquariums require 12-16 hours of darkness every day.
