What glue works on Hypalon?
We use Clifton Hypalon Adhesive to bond Hypalon to Hypalon, but this adhesive may also be used to bond other synthetic rubber materials, like neoprene and EDPM.
Why was Hypalon discontinued?
Hypalon production was discontinued by its original manufacturer, DuPont, back in 2009. This was due to production safety reasons and environmental considerations. For one, when Hypalon burns it releases highly toxic fumes.
How do I know if my boat is Hypalon?
If the fabric is PVC then the material will feel tacky and the solvent may leave some of the fabric colouring on the application cloth. Hypalon will leave an oxidized (dull) appearance and sometimes some colouring on the application cloth but Hypalon material will not feel tacky.
