What can live with a turtle?
Snails. Snails can be a great addition to your tank as many of them are omnivores and eat leftovers from your turtle. There are many varieties and, like anything else you are going to put into your tank, it needs to be researched. Mystery Snails/Apple Snails are a good choice and will help clean your tank.
Will my turtle eat my fish?
No matter what fish you keep with turtle, your turtle will try to eat it. It is their natural instinct. Though, fishes that are the same size as the turtle can be safe from them such as large koi and Plecos. Sometimes, small agile fish like guppies can also cohabitate with turtles.
Do turtles need a companion?
Finally, bear in mind that turtles don’t need the company of other turtles to be happy. In fact, most turtles prefer not having other turtles around. If your only reason for wanting to have two or more turtles is so that your one turtle “won’t be lonely,” don’t worry about that. Pet turtles don’t need company.
