Any time you run two units with the same frequency there is a risk of interference. However, with the modern noise rejection systems built into today’s fish finders, in most conditions when there is a unit on the front and back of the boat with the same frequencies, they will not interfere with each other.
An ECHOMAP and a GPSMAP cannot share a Panoptix LiveScope transducer or Panoptix transducer.
Can you use two transducers on Garmin?

Does it matter what side the transducer is on?
The general rule of thumb is to mount the transducer to the starboard side, which is the down stroke of most single outboard boat propellers (right hand lower unit). This side produces the least amount of turbulence and is most efficient in delivering the best performance.
